Parsifal – Richard Wagner at the Semperoper Dresden
Only a “pure fool” can redeem the community of the Grail – but is Parsifal truly the chosen one? Richard Wagner’s final work, Parsifal (premiered in Bayreuth in 1882), weaves mysticism, redemption, and human longing into a monumental “Festival Play for the Consecration of the Stage.”
Caught between temptation, suffering, and hope, Parsifal embarks on a long journey, ultimately finding his destiny through compassion and knowledge. Wagner’s music continues to overwhelm audiences with its spiritual power and profound depth.
With Floris Visser directing and Daniele Gatti conducting the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, this new production brings Wagner’s farewell masterpiece back to the stage of his former artistic home.
