RESIDENT EVIL 30th Anniversary Concerts - Symphony of Legacy
15.12.2026 | 20:00 | Wiener Stadthalle - Halle F
With “Resident Evil – Symphony of Legacy,” a concert series arrives in 2026 that is far more than a traditional film music event: it is a musical journey through one of the most influential horror universes in pop culture—bringing together the worlds of video games and cinema for the very first time. This concert tour resurrects the myth of Resident Evil in a powerful new way—live, intense, and utterly captivating. The series will stop in Austria for one exclusive concert only.
For three decades, Resident Evil has shaped the genre like hardly any other brand. Not only has it established itself as an iconic video game series, it is also one of the most commercially successful entertainment franchises worldwide. Since its debut in 1996, more than 170 million games have been sold globally, making Resident Evil the best-selling survival horror series in video game history and Capcom’s most successful software brand. A standout example of its ongoing success is Resident Evil 4 (Remake, 2023), which recently surpassed 10 million units sold worldwide, becoming the fastest-selling title in the entire series. These figures represent a global player base of tens of millions who have followed Resident Evil across generations.
The franchise’s lasting importance to the survival horror genre is also reflected in recent awards. To this day, the series is regarded as style-defining, continually setting new standards in atmosphere, game design, and audiovisual presentation. This creative and technical excellence was most recently confirmed at gamescom 2025, where Capcom dominated the awards with Resident Evil Requiem, receiving honors including Best Visuals, Best Audio, Most Epic, and Best Sony PlayStation Game.
The mystical soundtracks of the games—from ominous silence and claustrophobic ambient textures to powerful orchestral outbursts—have accompanied generations of players and redefined the emotional experience of interactive storytelling. At the same time, the cinematic adaptations turned the brand into a global big-screen phenomenon with monumental, dark film scores. Resident Evil has become a worldwide cultural force: the live-action and animated films rank among the most commercially successful video game adaptations of all time, grossing over USD 1.2 billion worldwide. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter alone (2016) earned approximately USD 312 million, firmly establishing the franchise as a cornerstone of international pop culture beyond gaming.
Symphony of Legacy brings these two worlds together for the first time in a dramaturgically curated concert series. A full symphony orchestra performs the most iconic musical themes from the games and films live—meticulously arranged, atmospherically intensified, and seamlessly interwoven. Carefully selected visual elements accompany the music, immersing the audience in the dark aesthetic of Resident Evil without overshadowing the musical focus.
The result is an immersive live experience that combines horror, nostalgia, and symphonic power—building a bridge between gaming culture, cinematic art, and classical concert tradition. Resident Evil – Symphony of Legacy is aimed equally at long-time fans and music lovers who want to experience just how powerful, emotional, and timeless this music truly is.
This concert series does more than celebrate an anniversary—it makes audible why Resident Evil has lost none of its fascination over the past 30 years. Don’t miss it!
Admission to the event is strictly limited to guests aged 18 and over!
