Strauss & Mozart Concerts in Vienna

The Vienna Hofburg Orchestra presents the most popular compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Strauss family as well as works by Kalman and Lehar in its Strauss & Mozart concerts.
The orchestra consists of up to 40 musicians and is accompanied by internationally renowned opera singers and classical ballet from Vienna’s opera houses.

Von Mai bis Oktober spielt das Wiener Hofburg Orchester klassische Konzerte mit den bekanntesten Werken von Josef und Johann Strauss, sowie Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Beschwingte Opern- und Operettenarien, sowie Duette von Emmerich Kálmán und Franz Lehár runden das Programm ab.
Das Orchester begleitet international renommierte Opernsänger und Ballettsolisten aus Wiens beliebten Opernhäusern.
So wie Johann Strauss dies vorgesehen hat und ganz nach Tradition aller großen Wiener Orchester haben die Musiker einige musikalische Scherze vorbereitet um das Publikum jeden Abend aufs Neue zu begeistern!

La Festsaal

Attraverso l’anticamera si accede alla grande Festsaal (sala delle feste), i cui lavori di costruzione cominciarono nel 1908 sotto il regno dell’imperatore Francesco Giuseppe I e terminarono nel 1923.
Gli imponenti affreschi che adornano il tetto, opera di Schramm, mostrano il motto personale dell’imperatore Francesco Giuseppe I – “Viribus Unitis” (“con le forze unite” o “con l’unione delle forze”) e il potere dominatore dell’Austria.
Il dipinto centrale rappresenta l’Austria, circondata da allegorie quali la religione, la giustizia, il valore, la scienza, l’arte e l’agricoltura.
Le quindici lunette di Veith mostrano importanti sovrani Asburgo. Negli ottagoni del pittore Stauffer si riconoscono tra gli altri il generale Carlo di Lotaringia, il Re polacco Jan Sobieski, il Principe Eugenio di Savoia, il Principe Kaunitz e il Principe Metternich.
