Soprano Pretty Yende, in demand internationally at opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and the Royal Opera House in London, devotes herself to art song.
From the opera stage to recital
Born in Piet Retief, South Africa, Pretty Yende began her career with a debut as Micaela in »Carmen« at the Latvian National Theatre in Riga and has since appeared regularly in leading roles in the operatic repertoire. In addition to her stage engagements, she also performs in concerts and recitals.
Pianistic expertise for the voice
The Polish pianist Anna Marchwińska, a specialist in vocal chamber music and a valued partner of numerous world stars, will accompany her on the piano. Marchwińska studied at the Juilliard School in New York, among others, and today leads the team of accompanists for the soloists at the Teatr Wielki, the National Opera in Warsaw.

Together, the opera star and the renowned pianist will perform a programme that includes songs by Richard Strauss, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Claude Debussy.
