Voyage Into Infinity - Narcissister - Vienna Festival 2026

US performance star Narcissister’s latest work is centred around an installation as she brings an oversized chain reaction machine made of recycled everyday objects to the stage. Three masked performers are driving the action. A falling discus thrower (pin-up boy of Nazi propaganda), a marble run that goes up in flames, vaginal fireworks are elements of a choreographed game about cause and effect. In contrast to the inspirational film The Way Things Go (1987) by Peter Fischli and David Weiss, which covered up the male interference (i.e., editing) in such a game, Narcissister is foregrounding the female, partly nude performers as driving forces. Equipped with emblematic, doll-like Narcissister masks, they become projection spaces and provide an eerie commentary on entrenched beauty ideals and the objectification of women. Voyage Into Infinity is humour, critique and visual spectacle rolled into one: raw energy and punk spirit.

El Museumsquartier (MQ) es un complejo cultural situado en Viena, Austria. Con sus 60,000 m² es el octavo espacio cultural más grande del mundo. Se encuentra ubicado en el séptimo distrito de la ciudad.

El Museumsquartier aloja dentro del complejo edificios tanto de arquitectura barroca como moderna. Se utilizó un vasto espacio que había albergado los establos de la corte. La obra comenzó en abril de 1998 y duró tres años. Su costo total ascendió a 150 millones de euros, siendo inaugurado en Junio de 2001.

El MQ es hogar de una amplia gama de instalaciones, desde amplios museos de arte como el Leopold Museum y el MUMOK (Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, Museo de Arte Moderno de la Fundación Ludwig de Viena), espacios de exhibición temporal de arte contemporáneo como el Kunsthalle Wien, un centro de danza -el Tanzquartier-, estudios para artistas residentes y estudios de producción. Allí se celebran también eventos de la talla del Wiener Festwochen (festival cultural de Viena), el Festival Internacional de Cine de Viena, o el ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival.
